Monte Sereno

Monte Sereno

It’s time for a project reveal! This design was for a client’s home in Monte Sereno, California featuring modern, sleek decor and layered textures throughout each room of the house. We use contrasting patterns in the carpeting, furniture, decor, and even walls to add depth to a room and allow for a seamless flow throughout the space. Each texture is juxtaposed against another in a manner that blends the designs and layers them nicely adding movement.

The living room is styled with this upholstered, oversized, blue pouf keeping in theme with the color scheme in this room. Blue tones have been peppered in with the window treatments, the back paneled wall, and blue armchair.

Living room design Monte Sereno

We appointed all of the furniture and designed the space about 6 years ago. This home was newly built and the finishes were chosen by the builder. The client wasn't initially ready to change those finishes but has recently come to us to specify modern architectural materials to match the timeless design we had created originally. We've completely reappointing the kitchen, changing it from an over scaled Spanish Mediterranean style to a modern, sleek, masculine, Italian kitchen.

The art we selected is a mix of bold and bright contrasted against calm and serene. The large black and white painting is a bold, geometric piece that we’ve placed next to the painting in calming green tones, this is a signature of what our design concept is.

Kitchen Before the Remodel

We're updating all of the built in cabinetry in the home, laying new tile floor, and adding exciting elements throughout the space. Among the changes is a custom bar with new mixed materials that combine some of our originally specified metals in the home and bringing in new exciting finishes such as reflective and reeded glass, and textured white bronze metal.

Home office Monte Sereno

Having a home office is essential these days as many industries have a standard of working from home due to the Coronavirus. One must-have for your home office to make it a place for productivity and concentration is having a room with a door that closes. In case you have family members that are also home during the week, this may be an essential feature to keep your space quiet. We personalized this space for the client with uniquely structured lighting overhead, and artwork placed on the back wall. The upper cabinets have subtle transparent doors allowing you to see the contents of whats inside.

Outdoor spaces

We can’t forget about the outdoor furniture around the pool! In the foreground of the image we have a comfortable seating area to lounge in. Here again we’ve used larger pieces such as the couches as a neutral palette to layer color on top of. We’ve chosen tones in blues and greens for the couch pillows, and in the background you can also see the chairs and umbrellas with a pop of color that contrasts nicely against the outside color of house. You can find the full project on our website here.
